This project was created for an online typography course, to prove an increasing grasp of the concepts of design and elements of type. The project was to create a poster that showcased an assigned typeface, in this case Neue Haas Grotesk. The composition was required to include the name of the typeface, a brief history of its origins, different available weights of the typeface, where it could be purchased, and the price to acquire it. In addition to meeting these requirements, each composition needs to demonstrate an understanding of principles of design such as alignment, contrast, negative space, etc., and needed to communicate the needed information in an efficient manner.

The project moved through several stages of development, with initial proof of concept sketches done by hand to provide a variety of options from which to choose designs for the second step of the project, which comprised of digital rendering of the most promising sketches and variations thereof. Four color variations were created based on the one digital composition deemed most successful, and then one of the color variations was chosen as the final composition showcased here.
